Painted from a photograph we took of a fruit stall in Cortona, Tuscany, Italy, I have always loved the contrasts of light and shadow and the rich, earthy greens in this composition.
Before I discovered my love of landscape, I frequently enjoyed painting still life with pears. I have always been drawn to their form and colour!
