'Memento' (meaning 'to remember') is the name given to an object of personal significance and value which serves to remind us of something worth remembering. This collection was created to celebrate my 50th birthday, bringing together three of my favourite things - an affection for small things, beautiful and eclectic framing and finding beauty in life's ordinary moments.
Each painting is a one-of-a-kind original in acrylic on watercolour paper, full of detailed brushwork on a small scale. I have chosen to paint moments of quiet contemplation from local New Zealand places I truly love by the water and bush, which I hope you will feel a connection to as well. I have been so fortunate to enjoy these special places both on my own and with family. If you are wondering the location of a specific piece please just as me, I would be happy to share it with you.
